Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, you will be creating a series of trading cards about famous African Americans. Each student will create four trading cards about four different famous African Americans. You may not choose the following people: Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, or Barack Obama; try to find some new and interesting people that you haven't heard much about.

You can look at Fact Monster's African-American Biography page for inspiration and help finding more information. You may only choose one person from each category - so that means that you may not choose all four people from the same category. For example, you may not choose four entertainers, four sports stars, or four scientists.

Wikimedia Commons is a great place to look for pictures for the front of your trading card. Remember, you will need to "Right Click" on the full-sized picture and choose "Save Picture As". Save all photos in your Y: drive.

The report section of the trading card will hold around two paragraphs of information, so keep that in mind when you are doing your research. The template for the trading cards can be found on the Projects (R:) drive, in the A1 Mrs. Washburn folder, in the template folder.
