Theology Project

Our next project will be a joint project between the Computer Literacy and Theology classes. You will be creating an evangelization tool using Photo Story or Windows Movie Maker and GIMP. In your video you may either explain an aspect of the Catholic faith (answer the question Why do Catholics …..?) or evangelize the faith (Why should someone of another faith become Catholic?). This project will be graded in Computer Lit on the technology aspects in and by Mr. C on the theological components.

You may use Photo Story or Windows Movie Maker to create your video – it must include some words, as well as the images and music.  You must include at least one image that you have manipulated using GIMP – you will turn in a file that includes the original image(s) and the manipulated image for evaluation.) GIMP is a free program and you can check out the tutorials to get started on the basics. Your image must be changed in some way - a photo montage is not an acceptable manipulation.

Music may be created in Photo Story or downloaded and imported into your movie – do NOT break copyright law with your soundtrack. All music must be either created by you or in the public domain – the “30 second rule” only refers to music used in a strict academic setting and is not valid for videos that you distribute on the Internet. Visit the Digital Building Blocks page for image and audio resources you can use.

If you have a different idea about using new media to spread the faith, you must discuss it with me and obtain approval before you begin working – you must provide me with a written synopsis of your idea in order for me to consider it.
